Scholarship Due Date Has Passed

As a CUIAA chapter, we are charged with helping our young people build a better tomorrow.  One important way that we do this is through scholarships.  As of March 6, 2025, our annual scholarship deadline is set for Juneteenth each year.  This scholarship supports deserving Claflinites and incoming Claflin freshmen from the Metro-Atlanta area.  We encourage everyone who meet the criterion to apply who can benefit from this opportunity; however, this year's deadline has passed.  Anyone interested in applying for the 2026-2027 term cannot apply before September 2025.

May 2025 Executive Board Meeting - 5/15

The Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition (BLACC) powered by AHF is proud to present a special screening of the acclaimed documentary MOSES – 13 STEPS, honoring the life and legacy of Olympic gold medalist and humanitarian Dr. Edwin Moses.

The documentary “MOSES – 13 steps” tells the life story of one of the greatest track and field athletes of all times. Edwin Moses grows up in a segregated America. As an African-American athlete he overcomes obstacles life throws at him. Without a coach and without support he teaches himself the toughest discipline in track and field, the 400-meter hurdles – depicted as “maneater” by athletes and runners alike – and creates a historic winning streak that leaves his competitors, fans and journalists puzzled. 9 years, 9 months, and 9 days.

Sporting success is one part of his story. The other is Edwin Moses’ fight against inequality, injustice, and doping, for equal rights and equal treatment of people regardless of skin color and gender, and for adequate payment of athletes.

The event, presented in partnership with the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance, will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Landmark Midtown Art Cinema, and will feature a post-screening conversation with Dr. Moses moderated by award-winning journalist Rose Scott, host of Closer Look on WABE. The conversation will also include Daniel Ford, President and CEO of the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance.

When:   Thursday, June 26

Where:  Landmark Midtown Arts Cinema,

Address:  931 Monroe Drive, Atlanta, GA

Time:  6:30 - 10pm EDT

It's Time to Pay Your Dues

Attention alumni!  Chapter dues are now due, and paying them is essential for the continued success of our alumni network.  These funds help fund events, support scholarships, chapter operating costs, and ensure that we can stay connected as a community.  By paying your dues, you are contributing to maintaining the chapter's activities and opportunities for engagement with both prospective Claflinites, students and alumni alike.  Your participation ensures that our alumni chapter remains strong, vibrant, and able to offer valuable resources to everyone involved. Thank you for your support!
